About Alumitherm Assist Ltd

Experienced thermal insulation subcontractors serving Dublin, Kildare, Wicklow, Meath, and the greater Leinster area.

How Alumitherm Came About

Alumitherm Assist Ltd was founded by David Peck, who set up the company after a long career in the thermal insulation trade across the UK, Ireland, and major projects overseas. With over 40 years of personal, hands-on experience, David established Alumitherm Assist to bring a high standard of labour-only insulation subcontracting to the Dublin market.

Over those four decades, David has carried out insulation and cladding work across a wide range of industries and project types — including petrochemical, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, healthcare, LNG and cryogenic, tank farms, oil sands facilities, large-scale commercial developments, and data centres. That breadth of practical experience means there are very few insulation challenges we haven't dealt with before.

Now based in Ireland, David leads Alumitherm Assist with a straightforward approach: do good work, keep your word, and look after the people you work with.

International Experience

David's career spans over 40 years across 4 continents and more than 20 countries — from billion-dollar LNG and energy projects in Asia and the Middle East, to pharmaceutical and data centre builds across Europe. This international depth now underpins every project Alumitherm delivers in Ireland.

Small Team, Deep Experience

We're a small, focused team — and that's by design. David leads every project personally and employs only experienced tradespeople, each with at least 20 years in the thermal insulation trade. We believe in quality over quantity: a smaller team of highly skilled people who know their craft inside out.

40+

Years' Personal Experience

David brings over four decades of hands-on experience in thermal insulation and sheet metal cladding, built up across a wide range of commercial, industrial, and specialist projects.

20+

Years Each Engineer

Every insulation engineer on our team has a minimum of 20 years' individual trade experience. No apprentices learning on your project — just seasoned professionals.

Hands-On Leadership

David is on site, not behind a desk. He personally oversees workmanship and quality on every project we take on.

Safety Compliance

Full compliance with Safe Pass, manual handling, and all site-specific safety requirements. Our team understands the demands of working in live environments.

Labour-Only Subcontracting

Alumitherm Assist operates as a labour-only subcontractor. We work alongside main contractors, providing skilled insulation labour to fit within your project structure and programme. Learn more about how our labour-only model works →

  • We Work With Your Team — As subcontractors, we integrate with your site team, following your programme and coordinating with other trades.
  • Material Flexibility — We can work with client-supplied materials or procure our own, whichever suits your project requirements and budget.
  • Programme Compliance — We understand the importance of deadlines. Our teams work efficiently to meet your project milestones without compromising on quality.
  • Clear Communication — We keep things straightforward. You'll know what we're doing, when we'll be there, and what we need from you to get the job done right.

Safety Is How We Work, Not an Afterthought

At Alumitherm Assist, health and safety is the foundation of how we plan and deliver every project — not a box-ticking exercise. Working on live commercial and industrial sites across Ireland, we align our practices with main contractor systems and statutory requirements to protect everyone on site.

Certified, Site-Ready Teams

  • All operatives hold current Safe Pass, Manual Handling, and Working at Heights certification.
  • MEWP and plant operators hold up-to-date IPAF tickets in line with main contractor requirements.
  • Supervisors experienced in coordinating works within complex environments such as data centres, hospitals, and pharmaceutical facilities where permit-to-work and access control are critical.

Risk Assessments, Method Statements & Permits

  • Detailed, task-specific RAMS prepared for all insulation and cladding activities, tailored to each project and location.
  • RAMS submitted for review and approval before works commence and updated as conditions or scope change.
  • Teams accustomed to working under strict permit-to-work systems, lock-out/tag-out procedures, and hot-work controls where cutting or fabrication is required on site.

Safe Systems of Work

  • Robust manual-handling practices for pipe sections, sheet metal, and tools, with appropriate use of trolleys, lifting aids, and team lifts.
  • Strict control of cutting, drilling, and grinding operations to manage noise, dust, and sparks, including use of appropriate extraction and fire watches where necessary.
  • Segregation of work areas, housekeeping, and clear access routes to keep plant rooms, corridors, and risers safe for all trades.

Working at Height & Access

  • Competent planning of all working-at-height activities, including selection of appropriate access systems — towers, podiums, MEWPs, and fixed scaffolds.
  • Pre-use inspections of access equipment and adherence to main contractor inspection regimes.
  • Edge protection, fall-protection systems, and exclusion zones implemented in line with project requirements and best practice.

PPE & Hazard Control

  • Project-specific PPE as standard: hard hats, eye and hearing protection, gloves, and safety footwear, with additional protection for cutting and fabrication tasks.
  • Control of insulation fibres and dust, including correct handling and disposal of waste materials to meet environmental and site rules.
  • Clear labelling and segregation of waste streams — insulation offcuts, metal scrap, packaging — to support the main contractor's environmental targets.

Induction, Toolbox Talks & Continuous Improvement

  • Attendance at all main-contractor site inductions and compliance with local rules, emergency procedures, and reporting lines.
  • Regular toolbox talks on key hazards such as working at height, CUI-related repairs, confined spaces, and coordination with other trades.
  • Open reporting culture for near-misses and unsafe conditions, feeding into ongoing improvements in our RAMS and work methods.

Compliance & Documentation

Full traceability of training and certification for each operative, available for site audits and pre-qualification checks. Project-specific H&S documentation is maintained and updated throughout the works, including RAMS revisions and incident reporting where required. Our activities are fully aligned with client and main-contractor H&S policies to integrate seamlessly with the overall project safety plan.
